EMR/EHR Vendor Interoperability

Interoperability in healthcare describes the extent to which electronic medical record systems can exchange data timely and enable secure access to that data to optimize patient health outcomes.  KHIE relies on interoperability and believes it leads to better care coordination and lowered healthcare costs.  KHIE strives to provide the infrastructure to produce meaningful health information exchange.

Our goal is to provide a comprehensive patient record that contains a complete health history that can be shared to improve the quality, value, and coordination of patient care.  To do this, systems must use standards that enable data sharing across disparate healthcare settings.  With that in mind, KHIE will work with any electronic medical record system to establish connectivity.  If you are interested in connecting to KHIE, contact the Outreach Coordinator in your area.
